Helping others impacted by Harvey and Irma

Our Texas and Florida employees and many of our Agents have been through a lot recently. We all stand ready to help those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma – our employees, our Agents, their employees, and the people in their communities.

Our people have been in touch with our title agents who’ve been directly impacted by the storms, asking how we can be helpful – whether that’s sending support staff to their offices, delivering water or even a simple sandwich platter, helping with clean-up, whatever! At this point, we are still trying to determine what our Agents needs have and how we can best help them.

Though we have not heard from all of our Agents - so far, the good news is that our people and our Agents are safe. From what we have learned so far, our Texas and Florida Agents were well prepared and expect minimal disruption to their business operations – they just need power and internet service!
What Alliant National is doing:
  1. Communicating with our Agents and Employees to Determine How We Can Help:Our staff continue to check with our Agents to see what they, their employees, even their communities may need -anything we can do to support their effort to get up and running again.
  2. Helping with Emergency Aid for Texan’s and Floridian’s:
We made a donation to Samaritans Purse’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, and to its Hurricane Irma Relief Fund. Samaritan's Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. They often stay behind after their initial response to rebuild or restore homes for needy families.
  3. Financial Help for our Agents, their Employees, and our own employees:
We created the Alliant National Title Helping Hands Fund, through a partnership with the Greater Houston Community Foundation. This Fund will allow us to offer financial support to our employees, our title agents, and their employees, to help with disaster-related costs and expenses (the details are below).

We encourage all agents and employees who were not affected by these storms, and who feel moved to do so, to contribute to the Alliant National Title Helping Hands Fund. These funds are earmarked for our agents and employees, so you would be directly helping people in our industry. Contributions can be made by credit or debit card by following this link:

Note on the Greater Houston Community Foundation:
Partnering with GHCF was a quick, effective and reliable way for Alliant National to create a fund knowing almost all the money would go to people who we personally know need the help.

The Greater Houston Community Foundation (GHCF) is a well-respected charitable organization that allows for the creation of individualized funds where 95% of any funds donated go directly to people who meet the criteria for assistance. Only 5% of the donations go to administering the Fund.

Donations to this fund are tax deductible. The GHCF does charge 3 percent to donate by credit card, so a $100 donation will charge $103. The charge will show on your statement as: “Greater Houston Community Foundation.” You will also receive a receipt for your contribution via email for tax purposes.

Please spread the word through phone, email, text, social media postings, any way you can, to anyone who might be able to use the Fund or contribute to it!

Thank you all for your help each and every day!!
